I’d like to thank everyone who contributed to the gifts of a commemorative bell and cash on my retirement from the post of Guild Secretary. You have all been very generous. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in post and over the years have met some wonderful people in all parts of Cornwall, not forgetting St Giles-in-the-Heath and Hugh Town!! I know that the current circumstances are a real challenge, and that resuming ringing will be difficult in many towers, but I am confident that in our diocese we have the drive and enthusiasm to make us all equal to the task, and I know that in Hayley I have a very worthy – and very enthusiastic – successor. I wish her and the Guild Committee all the best in the time ahead.
I am not disappearing, and shall continue to lead the ringing at Truro Cathedral where once the present restrictions have eased we shall look forward to welcoming again our many friends from all across Cornwall and beyond.
Once again, thank you all very much, and my best wishes to you all.
