Message from Bob Woods
‘I have been approached by Cury PCC asking for assistance in forming a bell ringing team. It has been many years since the church there has had a band of ringers. Having had the kind permission from Prescilla Oates ( Bell Ringing liaison) for the Wendron team of ringers to practice at Cury through last winter whilst the Wendron bells were undergoing maintenance work, I have 6 potential new recruits and these will be invited to our festival to hear and see what we do! Other members of the village who are interested will be encouraged to come along as well.
Our towers need opening up more to their local towns, villages and importantly the communities so they become part of the action…and get noticed for their involvement in Bellringing.
I hope you support this venture 100%. We need recruits! And positive action will bring positive results!
Here’s to a brand-new team of bellringers being formed at a tower where there are currently nil ringers.
