First Standing Committee Meeting for Acting PRO

The TDGR standing committee meeting took place last Saturday the 15th of July at Kenwyn and I was really pleased to go along in my new role as acting public relations officer. It was great to meet everyone and understand a little about the role of the standing committee. Lots to get up to speed with though, so I hope with some super-fast learning I can do the PRO role justice.

The great thing about spending time with people who love bells, of course, is the opportunities it creates to witness some great ringing. On Saturday evening I was lucky enough to take a trip out of county with some of the committee members and witness the mighty 12 bells of Exeter Cathedral being rung in all their glory.  Special thanks to our President for making possible a visit to the belfry during a ‘peal’. It was definitely the highlight of my week. The photos show brilliantly what I was thinking as the massive 73cwt Tenor came thundering toward us.

If anyone has any wisdom to offer me or suggestions in terms of the role of PRO, I’d love to hear from you via my email; pro@tdgr.org.uk.
