Spring is a good time of year to be looking forward, and bell ringing is no exception.
Our Spring Festivals are upon us followed by our Guild AGM, quickly followed on 6th May with the Coronation of King Charles III. By then it’ll be time to organise the Summer outing.
All towers should’ve received their annual subs forms for our membership to the Guild for just £5/year. Remember that any associate members to a tower only need to have their membership paid once, so if their membership has been paid at another tower, there’s no need to pay it again. For your £5, the Guild provides Public Liability Insurance, the Guild has helped with some of the expenses for Youth team when they competed in a National competition last year, it has helped to fund courses like the “Train the Trainers” course which was so successful, and not forgetting that part of your subscription goes into our Bell Restoration Fund to help out when towers are most in need. Our aim is to give 15% of the total project costs, and we gave Grants of £13,350 in 2021, and £9,200 in 2022.
This could be my last Presidents Blog, as my term in office is coming to an end, so I’d like to thank everyone for your support and encouragement, which has made my time as President so enjoyable, even though I have a busy farm to run.
I’m sure the Guild will be in good hands going forward, as I write we have 2 candidates who’ve been put forward as President, Owen Borlaise and Robert Perry, both of which have done sterling work for the Guild in the past, which gives me great confidence for the future.
